RECORDING AND ACCOMPANIMENT FOR OTHER ARTISTS

I have decades of recording experience of many types of music, having worked in NYC, L.A., many states and several other countries. Please see my bio for a brief overview; I will gladly provide further information on request.

POSSIBILITIES:  ADDITIONAL MUSICAL GROUPS

James can provide various combinations of Flute, Cello and Violin with Guitar, either as a duo or trio in classical, light jazz and pop musical styles.  Pop, classical and folk singers are also part of our offering...the linked websites will have samples of these in the first quarter of 2010.

EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE

James plays almost exclusively with high quality amplification that sounds beautiful in churches, outdoors, and in virtually any hall or building.  Acoustic only is reserved for parties of 8 or less.

A Portable battery-operated system is available for venues with no access to electricity for  parties of 200 or less.  About 1/3 of our events are in locations without electricity, so this is a standard situation for us.  This is often used outdoors; then James switches to conventional equipment inside for cocktail hour or dinner.
A PA stereo sound system is available to rent for events where a computer or ipod is preferred over DJs or bands, etc.  This is equipment rental, operated by the renter, and is charged at $100 per day.  The system can reach parties up to 250 guests indoors or outdoors and is of high quality audio.
For guitar solos, James uses the finest handmade classical and amplification equipment available.
The most-used setup consists of:

  1. Ramirez acoustic/electric guitar
  2. BOSE pro-audio tower amp
  3. Alternate amp: AER 60 (size: 12x12x12 approximately)
  4. Music stand: matte black orchestral or wooden solo or vintage silver

I bring backups of everything in case of emergency:

  1. Takamine classical acoustic/electric
  2. Crate acoustic Taos amplification
  3. Dean studio acoustic amplification

I also play when requested:

  1. Parker P6 steel string acoustic/electric “Jazz Box”
  2. Line6 Variax synthesized/modeling steel string guitar, which authentically reproduces 16 vintage instruments
  3. Highly customized Stratocaster, excellent for rock, funk, blues and jazz
  4. Roland Cube 60 amplification, with a wide range of effects
  5. "Go Anywhere" Battery Portable Amplification
All equipment is maintained for optimum performance and beauty, and designed for live performance as well as recording standards.  I have used most of this equipment to record national jingles, commercial recordings and solo/group performances.
